Electric Vehicle Offers & Information

EV Test Drive Program

EV Test Drive Program logo
To educate our members and bring awareness to our community about electric vehicles, GCEA purchased a 2018 Chevy Bolt and a 2019 Tesla Model 3. The EV test drive program provides members the chance to see how an EV works as their daily vehicle and think about whether planning an electric vehicle purchase in their future makes sense. The Bolt can be borrowed by GCEA members for a day at a time, to drive free of charge and without mileage restrictions, and the Tesla can be taken on a short 30-minute guided test drive with a GCEA representative.

Whatever your reasons for considering an EV purchase, we invite you to take advantage of the EV test drive experience through GCEA and find out why EVs are the car of the future and why so many people enjoy driving them.

If you are interested in taking our Chevy Bolt for a day trip or our Tesla Model 3 on a quick, 30-minute drive with a GCEA representative, please fill out the application at the link below and you will be contacted by our Member Relations team.

GCEA EV Charger Network

GCEA EV Charger Network logo
Electrifying transportation is an exciting trend that Gunnison County Electric Association (GCEA) is proud to be a part of! GCEA now owns and operates 13 public charging stations in Gunnison and Hinsdale counties. Grants from the Charge Ahead Colorado program helped fund most of these projects, along with generous contributions from the Tri-State Generation & Transmission, Towns of Crested Butte and Lake City as well as Hinsdale County, Lake City DIRT, and The Lake City Chamber of Commerce.

All but three of the stations charge reasonable fees for 240-volt Level 2 and 480-volt Level 3 or DC fast charging.

Charge at Home Program

Charge at Home Program logo
Gunnison County Electric Association is excited to announce an opportunity for our members interested in purchasing an electric vehicle or who already own one to receive a FREE Level 2 charging station through our new Charge at Home Program.

Electric vehicles (EVs) provide a way for members to reduce carbon emissions while saving money. Win-win, right? As more EVs hit the road every day, greater demand is added to the GCEA grid. This additional load to our system may present challenges if not properly managed.

To better understand electric vehicle charging behavior, GCEA has developed a program to help EV owners receive a complimentary Level 2 ChargePoint Home Flex charging station (retail value $699) in exchange for access to their charging data.

The station requires a 240V outlet and if installation is required, GCEA also offers a rebate up to $250 for the electric installation cost.

If you are interested in being a part of the Charge at Home Program, please contact Alliy Sahagun at 970-641-7356 to learn more.
